Cry Like A Baby What have I done?

Well, I waved goodbye to my first Alfa today. A very nice polish chap bought it from me. I had the 156 for three years, taking ownership after my mum no longer wanted the responsibility of looking after the last car my dad ever owned. This was just under a year after my dad passed away.

The fourth anniversary of my dad's death is in about two weeks, by which time I hope to be driving my new 159 Ti, but at the moment I feel as though I made a mistake letting the 156 go as it always brought a smile to my face and selling it brought a tear to my eye as the guy drove away. I also feel a little guilty, selling off my dad's car. Out of respect I chose Rosso Alfa for my new car, which was the colour he had wanted when he bought his, although he didn't want to wait as they had a Grigio one in stock. I can't blame him, waiting for an Alfa is awful.

Sorry about the depressing stuff and some over-long sentences. I hope I'll love the 159 just as much as I did/do the 156. Thanks for reading.

Perfectly natural feeling...don't be so hard on yourself Paul..your Dad is probably looking down on you and thinking i can't wait till he picks that 159 up !!

If you're in North Wales and fancy a trip down memory lane, you can take mine out for the day no problems. (and it's rosso!)

Re: What have I done?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments I found out the other day that my new number plate will have my dad's initials on it (something of a fluke, but a welcome one), and I'm sure he'll be there with me every time I put my foot down

your dad's spirit stays with you in your new car. Let the 156 go, and with it the sorrow you feel. Welcome the 159 as a new dawn, and a new and happier way of remembering your dad.

My thoughts are with you mate, I lost my dad when I was 17 and though time is a great healer, 23 years later he is never far from my thoughts. What you should think of is how pleased he would be for you in getting your new car and how glad he would be you inherited his good taste in motor cars!

I wish you all the best with the new car and I am sure your dad would have approved of your purchase
