Motor Village, Croydon.

Heard last night that Motor Village in Croydon is closing as from today. Anyone heard about this too? Very large and smart premises and there were very many cars (largely Fiat 500s) outside when I went past earlier this week. Perhaps low sales the cause.

That was a strange location with the usual “where do I park” issue all dealers seem to have as you approach. In theory it’d give Fiat some control over a dealership instead of being a franchisee. I’m not sure if they sold many cars though and despite having servicing facilities I always saw it as only sales.

When my daughter was looking at buying a car from them we were taken through the servicing area and it was cavernous but with hardly any cars there. As you say parking was an issue and on a number of occasions I thought of stopping just for a look but no parking spaces on or off the premises seemed available so just carried on past.
