Cat trying to hurt my Alfa :(

I like cats, but a local kitten is starting to get on my nerves

It keeps jumping onto my bonnet, leaving micro marring (polishable)...but having to do this everyday is starting to wear!

Are ultrasonic deterrents the best way to ward them away from my bella? (Humane of course!)

Get a BB gun and shoot it everytime it go's anywhere near your car or property. Cats are clever, they soon learn.

What he said but replace BB gun with a shotgun.

Super soaker water pistol (Great against squirrels too)

Or just use cat repellent.

Get a tin of Sardines, crack it open slightly and leave in the sun a few days then leave it out for the cat to eat........

Cats like a dose of botulism Then there is the Asprin or is it Paracetamol snack......

Re: Cat trying to hurt my Alfa :(

The ultrasonics do work, I have a mains powered one from ebay, only about £20 with adapter, leave it 24/7 will also stop them using your property as a toilet.
You can also get the ultrasonics as battery powered, but a pain knowing when the batts need replacing, the one I have has a LED and
has been doing its job for over a year now, we set it on a timer as the little darlings seem to be let out at night, day time no problem my springer spaniel loves the chase, never catches anything though, just remarks his territory.
Foxes are even worse, I cought one sitting on my car roof one night
he was magnificent but did it stink, off went the dog, and away flew the fox, you can get ultrasonics for the foxes, but a much higher frequency is required they are up at the top end of the sound spectrum, then dogs, then cats then ? and down to us.
Anyway go for it the ultrasonic will serve two jobs, no cat scratches, and no digging and crapping in your gravel or soil.
Sometimes a cat will challenge the ultrasonic and try to stare it out especially the local Tom, but eventually they sod off and find a new comfort zone.

Re: Cat trying to hurt my Alfa :(

cor! you lot are cruel my cats used to use my furniture as scratching posts but i solved that by putting cling film on the parts and that worked as cats hate the feel of cling film try covering ur car with a few sheets of cling film and hopefully they will keep clear, failing that get a spray bottle and just spray the buggers with water

Aye! A fox ate my car once.. Shoot the beast with a water pistol, or try the pepper route. Cat gets it on its fur.. has to clean itself.. not nice.. stays off the bonnet.

I used some spray dog/cat repellent around my
parking bay and never seen a cat near there since.

Haven't sprayed for a couple of years,
so either they've learned to ****-off-out-of-it
or I read the can wrong and it wasn't cat
"repellent" but something else.

Or, wrap the cat in clingfilm.

Non toxic, but should keep the kitty cat away from my car!

If not, I have also ordered an ultrasonic device that upon movement will tell it to shift off away from my car

Want to nip this in the bud before it's able to create any lasting damage to my bella

Re: Cat trying to hurt my Alfa :(

Buy a labrador, they are harmless but make a racket!

No obviously a dog is for life not christmas, but I happen to know from my dad's example that one hit from an air pistol/rifle also does wonders as a deterrent - but be kind and only use round BBs instead of sharp pellets or you may permanently damage it... and stick to 0.177 cal as 0.22 could maybe do damage rather than just scare them.

Also, I used to set my alarm off with the remote but this didn't not work as much of a deterent - worth a try though.
