European Breakdown Cover

Hi All,

I'm taking the 33 to Dunkerque, France in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend a company I could use for breakdown cover?

Got a quote on AA which came out at £75 for 10 days........

Is this the best?

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Re: European Breakdown Cover

Hmm, you could give the RAC a go, I used to work for them and recall a package including Euro breakdown cover, Home Start etc for about £100 for the entire year.

It might be cheaper now mate, give them a bell.

I used to use Green Flag (Was National)
when I was in the UK.

Re: European Breakdown Cover

I just found out i get green flag with my barclays additions account...i think they do similiar in other banks...you may already have a form of cover which just requires an upgrade..

Re: European Breakdown Cover

Hmm thanks for that - I already have breakdown cover with Swinton though and I think I'm bound into a 12 month contract..

Wish I'd of done something like that before really - is it possible to cancel my policy at all?

Thanks

Re: European Breakdown Cover

Don't think so Matt, and even if you could they'd prob charge you a closing fee which would equate to about the same value as the remainder you had to pay,

Can you not upgrade your current cover?

Re: European Breakdown Cover

I would say, try the firm who do your current home insurance, or failing that try E sure on the net, or maybe Direct Line - mine worked out at £75 for the year, but I was insured by them.

Re: European Breakdown Cover

from moneysaving expert

Full Cover incl. Europe: Quoteline Direct £59

Phone and web broker Quotelinedirect* Car Insurance UK Cheap Van Home & Travel Quotes Online has an exclusive deal with Europ Assistance for a £59 annual 'AutoService' policy covering any individual vehicle (less than 20 years old) for a year. This includes home-start, and onward travel for passengers, plus up to 90 days a year cover in Europe. It's worth noting though, that if you're likely only to go to Europe once during the year, it is better to stick with a UK-only policy and take European cover out just for the specific trip (using the Moneysupermarket* comparison). http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/d1b5d643
