Looky Looky Could this be the ultimate Alfa accessory

This is a limited edition 8C Competizione watch

I got the leaflet from Alfa at the Geneva show but just remembered about it

It seems that Giuliano Mazzuoli is a bit of a boy when it comes to Alfas

Cheers,

Nice, but very difficult to read the time. Our brain is really trained for twelve hours in a circle when it comes to watches. Other watches like this one or a watch that rotates once every 24 hours requires concentration for reading. And trust me, you won't like that.

Still very though

Re: Could this be the ultimate Alfa accessory

Lots of companies release watches to go with special edition cars, i've seen Jag, Merc and BMW ones in the past.

There's also a common scam where a bloke catches you in the street and tries to sell you one of these 'genuine' watches that were released along with the car, but weren't all taken by the car buyers. He'll flog you the watch for £50-£60. Totally kosher, guv. Honest.

She should get her attention-seeking ass out of the way of the real star of that picture.

I've had this happen a couple of times although I've never bought off them. To be honest the last set of watches someone tried to sell me seemed pretty solid and looked good, and for £20 I don't think I'd be too worried about whether they were fake or not

Not sure how it displays the time... Do you have to pull the lever? And it shows hours first, then minutes?

Re: Could this be the ultimate Alfa accessory

The beast of a watch starts at £1,300 and goes up to £13,000 . I like it but it's bloody huge (13.3mm thick and 44mm diam) and would look stupid on my scrawny wrists.

It would look like a very small thing indeed on SR's wrists

The time is set by pulling out the lever and rotating the bezel. The hand then sweeps from 1 to 12 and jumps the gap at the bottom every 12 hours. There's a small red dot that displays the minutes.

From the link, it looks like when it gets to 12 the hand (or needle, in car terms) sweeps back to 1. (jumping the gap wouldn't be cool).

I looks brilliant, if it was £600 i would consider one. got to be a collectors piece too?

I wonder if it stops working after 3 days, for that added attention to detail?

(sorry feeding the myth but couldn't resist )
