No more car park dents

Had all the 'car park' dents taken out of the GTV this morning. Only took about 30mins very good job. Was a bit unsure it would look good but its perfect. These dent removal people know there stuff.

If anyone is in the Surrey/Sussex area i would recommend fixadent.

Never going to park in a supermarket again now

Re: No more car park dents

Glad to hear the car is now dent free, what is the method used to remove them? I've never seen it done.

Re: No more car park dents

Glad to hear it Oliver - think I'll collect another 2 or 3 then get mine done! Had a couple taken out on my old 156 - came out like magic, best £60 I'd spent in a long time.

We've had about 4 done on the GT at a cost of £50 a time

Got one off a stone on the bonnet that needs sorting. Will wait until the show season starts

I got a bad one on the bonnet a week or so ago but I don't think these dent devil guys can handle it as it's through the paint..

Re: No more car park dents

Do they have to take the inside door panels off to get to the other side or can all the dents be pulled on the paintwork side?

I say this because i have a dent on top of my rear wheel arch and its inaccessible from inside the wheel arch. the only way i can see to get to the back of it would be removing the rear seats and plastic inside side panels.

Re: No more car park dents

Laptop Matt....apparently it is a myth that dents can be pulled properly from the pain side.

You would be surprised at how quickly and easily they gain access.

You would have to call them and explain what car where the dent is and they will tell u if it can be done. Chances are they have done pretty much every car on the market at some stage

Re: No more car park dents

Perhaps you could remove the interior trim yourself (& take more care about it) to save the PDR guys some time & therefore money.

Re: No more car park dents

Some dents can be removed from the out side. They use a yellow glue on a hot glue gun and then stick a plastic pad to it.Once the glue is set a slide hammer is put on the plastic pad and pulled back out.The pads can be cut to shape of the dent. There is a deactivating spray to remove the glue afterwards. If the dent is pulled too far out a nylon stick is used with a small hammer to gently remove the raised section. If the dent is to be removed from behind, bars will be used. They will start from the outer edge of the dent and work around in decreasing circles.

It is easier if the trim is removed in some cases, this will give more options for access.I would do this myself though as grahbigg says save money and clips.Usually though if dent is on a door they will go in from above by the window rubber, although this can damage clips holding on the rubber so check before paying. On a three door or coupe it's easier to gain access through the boot trim for quater panel repairs.Saves taking the seats and side trim out. Also shop around as some charge per dent but most now charge per panel usually around £30

Same here, I've got a little dent just on the edge of the arch which I always thought were impossible to sort out as the inside is skinned.

depends on the dent, but you can buy all the bits you need cheaply (and instructions, even dvd's). it really doesnt require special skills, which is why when you can buy a dentmaster style franchise you only get 1 day of training and a dvd, then you're an "expert".

my alfa had a small dent on the rear quarter that could not be removed using PDR methods, so i had to hammer it out but then i used touch up paint instead of filler and t-cut on a rag instead of wet&dry. a crafty trick that works very well.
