I use Redex occasionally and have not noticed any ill effects. Can't put my hand on my heart and say I've noticed any improvement though either.

Re: fuel cleaner

I use redex on occassion or higher RON fuel. Shell Super (Optimax, Vpower) has 98 RON and cleaning additives. Been using 99 RON Tesco stuff recently.

Re: fuel cleaner

redex is the same as fuel additives, its only kerosene. it has been proven to only have a negligible cleaning effect when added to fuel, you need to pour a few ml in each spark plug hole then turn engine over for a few mins to really clean your valves.

Re: fuel cleaner

The dealerships do a gas treatment called "Forte" at service, this is supposed to be good at flushing out the system. I have to say when I had my GTV with that stuff it often came out feeling faster and looser.
