Far Far better than an Alfa wave in my 159

Hello,
OK, a tall order I know.
I own a Black 159 estate. It needs a wash but otherwise is a fine looking car.
I'm driving along behind a very clean, new, silver BMW 3 series convertible with all the trimmings and it's roof down.
Driving is a 40 something man (not totally unlike myself) and in the back, enjoying the ride in daddy's new car are his 2 young daughters. About 7 and 12 I am guessing.
They are doing the "let's turn around and wave at the car behind us" game.

They keep waving, very excited. I am obviously ignoring them.
The waving stops.
It is replaced by furious in-car activity.
The waving returns.
They wave a small, hand written sign.

"WE LIKE YOUR CAR - IT'S COOL!"

I'm sure their Daddy is delighted with his automotive choice
better than a wave.
bl**dy brilliant.

You can lead a horse to water, but kids today are lightyears ahead of their time, thankfully in this case.

Classic, just goes to show a child's development is not necessarily hindered by their parents owning a Beemer

Had a passenger in a Renault Seasick given me the double and mouth the words 'I love your car' the other week as we sat at some traffic lights !!

Then he was in the same car park as us and seemed to want to follow us about... I got a bit scared then !!

Awesome!

Once experienced a middle-aged man driving up alongside me, taking a photo with his camera phone, but this was way cooler!

Well to kids these days the BMW 3 series must seem common as muck, since there are so many around. They probably don't think of it as a cool car at all - just bog standard, like Ford and Vauxhall were when I was a kid.

Re: Far Far better than an Alfa wave in my 159

Brilliant

The best I've had was a guy in a 911 giving me the thumbs up the week I got the car. My wife's also had a guy in a car park lamenting the fact that he'd got a 3-series touring instead of a 159SW.

Re: Far Far better than an Alfa wave in my 159

Brilliant! Although I would have given the kids a wave.

The best I had was someone in an F430 pull alongside with the hood down. He said "The Alfa's looking good" and gave me a thumbs up before accelerating off into the distance.

Kids giving you thumbs up is good, but a pretty lady checking out the car and the contents: Priceless
