Yes it will. They are neither genuine Alfa or OEM.

Check to see if your warranty covers the discs and pads. These are usually seen as wear and tear items. If thats the case then you should be able to fit them I would think. Check with the warranty company.

The warranty runs until the end of May when the car will be 3½ years old.

There's only about a thousand miles left in the pads.

Re: Will Fitting Fast Road Discs And Pads Invalidate My Warranty?.

Replacing your pads and discs can't affect warranty. It can invalidate your insurance if the specs of the replacements are lower than the manufacturer's specs. ie you put on smaller pads than the Alfa recommended ones, or the ones you have on are past the wear marks etc. As long as it meets Alfa specs or exceeds it you're ok.

If it did invalidate warranty loads of garages and companies like Kwik-Fit would got out of business!

Mojo: Might it also invalidate insurance of the parts exceed standard ARR performance too? Since this would be classed as a mod?

Re: Will Fitting Fast Road Discs And Pads Invalidate My Warranty?.

It wouldn't invalidate a warranty would it ... they're wear and tear items - as mentioned previously !!

It may however invalidate the warranty on any connected chassis or suspension parts should they fail due to the increased stress/forces introduced by uprated brakes and the increased forces they may produce!!??

I can't see why it would invalidate a warranty any more than fitting a different make of tyres... They are direct replacements after all, just better than the originals.

Only if the failure was as a result of fitting the non-approved parts.

Shouldn't do but check with your dealer, my dealer actually fitted mine when my pads disintegrated after a track day

As someone else said, you'd have to include tyres as well in that case. Some tyres perform better than others and are wear and tear as well. So no, it's not counted as a mod and can't affect warranty (well certainly not AR warranty which wouldn't cover brake pad/disc wear).

However, having said that, if the brakes/disc failed due to a defect and you didn't have an approved part on it then you wouldn't be able to claim under warranty - you'd have to claim from the manufacturer of said part. Not quite the same but the only thing I can think of.

Whilst I wouldn't put it past an insurance company to try and stick a premium on for upgraded brakes, I am sure it would be a lead article in Which! magazine if they tried, as better brakes can only make the car safer

Re: Will Fitting Fast Road Discs And Pads Invalidate My Warranty?.

I changed my front disks to grooved & drilled whilst it was under warranty and had some fast road pads fitted with no warranty issue. In fact after they had been changed the car subsequently had work done by three different dealers with no issue.

Disagree, unles the law has changed again.

I was told by FIAT that all parts must be genuine including pads and discs, in order to validate a manufactureres warranty.

There's only 12 weeks left so I wouldn't worry unduly anyway.

Stick a set of 'el cheapo pads in for the warranty time left? Fitted her 147 with Ferodo's of the correct spec, for a ridiculously low cost! Kept the originals which were about half depleted, just in case, but the new ones are fine.:
