Help Power loss

Hi All

I posted the question below in the GT tech section but didn't get any replies so I thought I would open it up to a wider audience.

As a added note this morning the car was worse

Wierd one this....the last couple of days when leaving work as I have got to the road and put my foot down the car has limped for @3-5 secs

Its like severe turbo lag on a grand scale, but just as soon as its there it clears and is running fine again.

Any ideas ?

Petrol or Diesel ?

That would be a good start...so we know what engine you have..

Yes it just doesn't want to rev, even if you put your foot flat to the floor the revs are really slow to climb. I nearly had a accident this morning because I went to pull onto a roundabout and had no power, so I dipped the clutch put my foot to the floor and the revs crawled up.

Strangely once the car was up to normal running temperature I didn't notice it.

OA it has done 15k miles

I am not an expert but it does point to the turbo...

Re: Power loss

Vooster... check all the boost hoses fella... and check them closely.... one may be split !!

Just a thought as a starting point to try diagnose the problem like !!

Like Joe and Chris said it could be the turbo itself... then again it may just be a dodgy sensor etc.

Re: Power loss

Cheers guys I will have a poke around.

I have booked the car in for them to look at which they can do at shot notice, but they don't have a loan car until a week Friday. That means I either continue to use the car and risk further damage to whatever is wrong and may lead to a breakdown or I use the other halfs car
