New 147 Collezione

Just seen that there's a new version coming out shortly. I like the metallic white with grey wheels...looks like the super 'CNC' edition and very good value too -actually quite tempted if there's enough discount!

Obviously they want shot of the last load of 1.6TS and 8V diesel units!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the white a solid colour and not metallic?

I think they have to make it very good value as attractive though it is; its now a comparatively old car.

But it's still got bags of character

Looks way cool. Could find itself in a bit of a niche market though. A marmite love it hate it situation?

You're up late..

White with ebony roof sounds

So they've got the:

147 Sport
147 Ducati
147 Collezione
147 Cloverleaf
147 Q2

Any other special editions? How much longer can they carry on milking the 147?

Re: New 147 Collezione

you too, mate (you haven't been sampling the stock again have you, doc?)

i've never fancied the facelifted 147, but in sparkling white it does the job !

Re: New 147 Collezione

Plenty of life left in the 147. Here are a few ideas:
  • 147 convertible (how could they not think of this ??)
  • 147 Crossover
  • 147 4x4
  • 147 Amphibious
  • 147 limo
  • 147 stretched limo
  • 147 Bling (spinners, huge subwoofer & stereo, you know the score )
  • 147 Combat (camouflage paint, bullet proof, etc)

    And my favourite to come
  • 147 Special alfaowner edition*

*Ian will have details for you soon

Re: New 147 Collezione

interesting one about the 147 convertible

I'd never given this thought previously, but it is so obvious now you've mentioned it

would it be a ragtop or a fat-ass tin top? Bottom line is, has to look great!

Re: New 147 Collezione

Extremely difficult to replace the best looking hatch back ever.: I didn't realise the latest would have a metallic content in it's white topcoat?:

Re: New 147 Collezione

i agree Zed, but I'm wondering if a fiat 500 can get a 5 star ncap then surely we can have a pretty 147 replacement that isn't the size of a bus (because that, to me, is the likely problem)

I see the 147 convertible as a tin-top

Re: New 147 Collezione

I think I follow you on the concerns over size, but having tested the ICE Kia Picanto,(Her wishes) It is not far short of 'feeling' as large as the 147!:

Referring to the NCAP ratings, I recollect the test with the small Renault, V the old, bold,Volvo! Sure the Volvo appeared to have an enormous amount of structural deformation, dangerously so, but the Renault bounced off the Volvo like a rubber ball.: The apparent whiplash effect on the two stooge dummies in it, looked extremely violent to my viewing? I suppose if we all drove smaller cars, the problem would be reduced?:

Re: New 147 Collezione

agree - trolloping around some country lanes the other day and nearly "encountered" a Range Rover Sport that was moving at a rate of knots.

That would have been a bit of a walk-over if I hadn't swerved and braked.

I'm not much of a fan of the 4x4 brigade.

Re: New 147 Collezione

I think in that simulation (a Fifth Gear episode I believe), the Renault was a lot better than the Volvo.

Re: New 147 Collezione

Sure, the intrusion of the dashboard into the Volvo's cabin was quite dramatic, but having observed the extremely violent way the dummies suffered whiplash, broken legs V snapped necks? The main focus was on a big, old, rigid vehicles lack of frontal force, absorbtion, pity the dummies in the Volvo were not communicative.:

Re: New 147 Collezione

I have to be honest, I didn't pay attention to that bit.

Basically the conclusion is that no car is safe.

Re: New 147 Collezione

That's right I reckon BF.: The demonstration would of been more down to earth, if the Volvo had of been a current version, rather than an old banger.

Change of topic! Looks as if older drivers competence, and safety on the road is likely to come in for scrutiny in the future.I'm totally happy with that.:If it's deemed I'm not safe to drive, withdraw my licence: However, this will be extended to all age groups eventually, most probably, except I guess some will drive regardless of a ban. Do some now, without a licence, or tax and insurance? Yep! all old foggies in the main I guess!
