Thanks for the update

Do you have a picture of what the new colour actually looks like?

Thanks for that!
Is the "Ferrari Natural" tan leather? Also, are we getting any of the Unica stuff over here?

BF - I think the white is the pic of the Spider from the motorshows... e.g.

Re: 2008MY Spider/Brera

Sounds nice - in my opinion a good thing to make the Sky View an option. It was a novelty to start off with but I hardly ever use it now. The 2.2 is very much becoming an entry model with leather being an option, Ferrari Natural with Alfa Red - great combination, far, far better than the black and grey!

Re: 2008MY Spider/Brera

100kg lighter! Blimey that should make a difference - wonder what the fuel consumption of the 3.2 will be now? One would expect a significant if we factor in the removal of the power sapping additional diff.

I suppose not having the Sky View would make it lighter too, but I really like it.

Re: 2008MY Spider/Brera

I imagine removal of sky view + Q4 = 100kg, so there's been no weight reduction at all really, bit disappointing!

Don't like the Astra esque roof and as long as they Q2 or similar the 3.2 FWD it should be a belter.

Agreed, it provides a simple, quick early solution to the flab problem.

Back down the old route but I think the flab problem is only an issue if you try and call the Brera a sportscar. It's not. It's a well built, attractive but fairly impractical Grand Tourer. In fairness to even Autocar, they recognise this in their well written 3.2 Q4 review.

It's the way it's marketed is the problem.

It may be too late to reinvent in now, unless they make a lightened & more powerful GTA version with some composite panels etc.

Indeed, but I've always been very disappointed in the consumption figures for the new 3.2 as fitted to the Brera - they're no better than the Busso.

I had hoped it would in the ball park for similar sized engines from the competition (25-30 mpg) which would have made it a much more serious proposition for me. Hopefully the lightened two wheel drive version will address that.....

Just remembered, they're working on a proper replacement for the Busso-think I'll hang on for a bit longer....

Hate to say I told you all so! This one is going to be a belter. I assume the Q2 is not standard, Matthew? Is it an option and does the Q2 add any weight?

I really like the Skyview, and my fiance loves it as she felt claustro in the GTV which in turn made her car sick - no probs in Brera SV! Went out this lunch time in the sun and it was glorious to have the blind full open! It's not astraesque, the astra does not even deserve a capital A.

Matthew, when you say the dash is dark do you mean the lovely aluminium console is gone?

PS white looks cool in the showroom but for heavens sake don't spec it on a JTDM! Or drive behind another diesel. In fact...

Front wheel drive for shopping, rear wheel drive for racing

240 brake is too much for front wheel drive IMHO
