Anyone repaired their own alloys - what products did you use ?

Guys,

With some better weather hopefully on the horizon i'm thinking of repairing my 3 kerbed alloys - instead of handing £180 over i'd rather spend £30 on products and have a go myself.

For those who've done their own what products did you go for ?

It seems the wurth products are popular - anyone tried any of these 'kits' you can get ?

My main concern is matching the colour perfectly...are alloy paints one colour or in differeing shades...any recommendations on a perfect match for the Alfa Gt 17" rims ?

Any general advice greatly appreciated.

Mike.

I won't be laborious and go through the complete procedure I deployed when we first got the 147, only to say that using the Badger airbrush in the local areas that were damaged, with Boots No 17 Nail Lacquer, gave brilliant results.: Had to first repair, using an aluminium based body filler, then a grey stopper, then grey primer, before the colour and lacquer were applied to finish, prior to buffing/polishing:

The Wurth stuff isnt a good match for OE Alfa Alloys unfortunately - you need to do all 4.

I expect it varies Alfa model to model, but the 147's appear to be a medium metalflake silver finish, CJR?:

Thats right Zebra Foxtrot.

Wurth matches the smaller flake flatter finish of BBS wheels.
