Caledonia Group go into Receivership

Well that’s a real bummer! I buy a brand new Alfa then two weeks later Caledonia Warrington looses the dealership.

I thought that was bad enough but now the Caledonia group seem to have gone into administration so even the bloody workshop and servicing facilities are gone and the nearest dealer is Mangos the other side of Knutsford, a round trip of about 50 miles.

The news report concentrated on the local service centre but if the group goes, it's probably goodby to Manchester and Preston dealerships.

Truth be know I used Caledonia in Warrington and they were Sh!te.

They deserved to loose the franchise and the service I had from them I'm not surprised they went to the wall

manchester caledonia are pants too. only ever used them for parts but somehow they always managed to make buying a tin of oil into an international catastrophe. they used to look at me like i'd just p*ssed in their tea for daring to ask if i could buy something from them. proper smartarses they were as well. i'd like to say good riddance but no doubt they'll get bought by another group and most of the staff will remain

Re: Caledonia Group go into Receivership

Not at all surprised they've gone. Went in about 18 months ago as we were considering a Fiat as a second car. They treated us as if we were imbeciles, offering us a car at top price as if they were doing us a favour, along with an exorbitant rate of finance. When I said I could get the finance for less than half the offered rate, the finance guy all but called me a liar. I then let it drop that I am an accountant so may have half an idea about interest rates.
They have been useless since the late Stuart Jones worked there - there was a man who not only knew that a 75 wasn't just a pastiche Rover, but actually raced one as well.

Never trust an apparant dealership that doesn't even have an alfa in its showroom! Caladonia Preston didn't even have one for show!

Re: Caledonia Group go into Receivership

Good, Caledonia motor group were [email protected]
Owned by the reclusive Barclay brother's who bought out the remain's of Nissan uk from Octav Botna in the early 80's.
I had the misfortune of working for them in a Fiat dealership, at one point we ha 9 car's for sale on a forecourt that could hold 150.
Aftersales was a joke as we were not allowed to carry non service item's in the part's dept, so everything was special order.
Hope the gap is plugged in your area by a competant dealer.
