Not Happy My Alfa battered and bruised

Cannot believe the last 24 hours!

Had a woman cut lanes yesterday in Edinburgh and smash right into the drivers side of my Gtv. Big dent and loads of scraped paint.

If that wasnt bad enough, had a van smash into the back of me today on the Edinburgh bypass. Lights all smashed and bumper bent.

Feel like never getting in a car again.

Renewal premium due at start of Feb.

The woman has accepted blame but obviously i have to stump up my excess until its claimed back. Anyone know from experience whether a second claim in such a short time could lead to more excess? ie do i stump up my excess again?

Tell me about it. Not had a claim in 7 years and now twice in 24 hours.

Anyone know how much replacement glass for the entire width of the rear lights of a GTV will cost?

That's awful and your car is a stunner Make sure you communicate everything to the insurance. As it's not your fault, Angel Assistance should be able to provide you with another premium make car while yours is off the road, rather than a Ka the garage will give you. They were great through my CKI policy when my 156 got totalled.

At least its two separate claims then, if all the damage was done in one claim they'd probably just write it off!

Sorry to hear about the damage though

Re: My Alfa battered and bruised

you dont need to pay the excess if you do not use your insurance company. use a no win no fee style firm instead.

Re: My Alfa battered and bruised

Cheers for the replies guys. Made it home safely tonight!

Adrian Flux also recommended Angel Assistance so i'm using them instead of claiming the insurance.

Rab - my understanding is you pay the excess if you claim and get it refunded at some point if and when the other party admit liability and their insurers stump up?

Re: My Alfa battered and bruised

Unluck fella. Hope your road through ins is a smooth one.

I'm through Adrian Flux.

Had an accident in June last year. Guy cut into me on a roundabout. Ins told me, if I do not get car fixed until 3rd party admits liability, premium and no claims not affected.

Like HELL! Went up £240 and lost 2 yrs no claims!!!

And STILL the guy not admitting liability. What the hell do I have to do, pay him a visit???
