autoglym aqua wax - user report.

guys just thought i should share some knowlege with you all.

today i just purchased and used for the first time some autoglym aquawax. its about 13 from halfrauds.....

well today is my only free day so despite the light rain i washed the motor. first used zymol auto wash, love that stuff and it smells SUPER!!! anyway, then without drying the car i just sprayed on some aqua wax and rubbed it in.

in one word i can capture this product AMAZING. it really is. the water just seemed to disapear and the car was left with a lovely glossy shine. very nice. i promise im not an employee of autoglym but this stuff is wonderful. im a convert. highly recommended.

even with it still raining it didnt streak or go manky at all. just looked supper glossy. will post some photos in a minute......

kind regards
Paul

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

iirc the bottle states that it uses carnauba wax, so i thought about trying it, but then i thought its more expensive than my T1 grade carnauba so i didnt bother. what i should have been thinking was that there is no way you can wax your car on a dry day this time of year so waxing wet is the only option, and if that means it costs me twice as much then so be it.

Sounds impressive - so you just spray, rub in & leave ?....no buffing ?

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

cup your hand and whoosh off the excess water, spray sparingly, use the microfibre cloth (2 supplied) to apply and rub in, it works in very very quickly in my case. i kept rubbing it in for a good time just to really make sure i had an even spread of wax. just keep wringing out the cloth and it works well even with a damp/wet cloth. when finished then use the second cloth (supplied) and give it a good buff to get max shine, in my case it barely needed it but i did it anyhow. the stuff is safe to use on trim and glass although its not recommended on the windscreen. i for sure will use it again its cut my car cleaning time in about half!!!!!

if you give it a go i hope you like it mikeyw

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

Found a bottle of this stuff whilst sorting out under the stairs this morning, must have bought it from a car show last year.
Having read this thread I'd thought I'd try it, as my motor was looking in a sorry, dirty state.

It's bloomin' great

Very easy to apply and buff up, little effort required at all for a pretty good finish.
Won't replace a full polish/seal/wax etc, but great if you're stuck for time.

Highly recommended

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

I bought & used some of this yesterday.

It's fantastic stuff. Brilliant result in a short space of time.

Ideal for this time of year when it's hard to get the car dry enough to use normal polish.

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

Excellent stuff that, if your not fussy for the 2 cloths in the 500ml pack for around £10 then find you local Autoglym trade range supplier or some valeters might have it.......I bought a 5 litre bottle for £32!
The trade version is called Express Wax though.

Here is a link to it on one site - Elite Car Care - Autoglym Express Wax 5L

Other good trade products I use which work out at much better value are Autoglym Autogloss Rinse, Meguiars Last Touch Detailer Spray and Detailer Shampoo Plus.
.....having 3 cars I do alot of car washing!

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

Yeah alright, I'm convinced. I'll pick some up this week and give some TLC.

(But only because it's been a couple of months since I cleaned her and I feel guilty )

I might even post some pics if I like the job

Re: autoglym aqua wax - user report.

I'd volunteer but i think if i drank the whole bottle i might die so a final report would not be conclusive.
