new car V old car faults

Is it better to buy new or used ?
I'm thinking 159 but the theory is the same for all models.

Is it better to get a 12 month old model that has had all the niggly faults ironed out by the first owner or get a new one , which in theory should be less prone to faults as the components are newer.

Any thoughts / experiences

Re: new car V old car faults

cars never get faults ironed out i find
never been in the position to buy a new car but i guess it comes down to a straightforward choice between the luxury of a brand new car that no-one has had the chance to spoil, or a 12 month old one for a bucket-full less money . the depreciation on any new car is just crazy for what you lose in the first year could buy a very nice used car, one that has been cared for and will keep going, that's my excuse for beeing too tight to buy new anyway
at the end of the day it's your choice matey, you will have to live with it

A year old car could be a year old car because the owner could not cope with all the problems that have 'not' been ironed out

Who's to say a new one wont be full of problems and we all know how good the dealerships are, don't we? Not.

Buy used and with the cash you've saved buy a second car.

I would buy one that is a couple of months old. The heaviest depreciation will have taken place, some of the faults will have been irned out and the number plate will still be current.
