ALFA 147 Gear box issues

Just a quick one. This this is more of a general car issue as opposed to an ALFA issue.

Driving into work today I noticed as I pulled away I found it difficult to find 3rd gear.

When I parked up I noted that the gear stick was not centering. If I pushed it fully to the right it stayed there - any ideas.

Re: ALFA 147 Gear box issues

Hi and welcome. Could be 2 things:

engine arm support or, more likely, the "H" where the gear stick goes. It's a cheap part.

Re: ALFA 147 Gear box issues

1. None Self Centring gearstick - Gear selector Plate needs replacing with redesigned alfa part, if you don't get it done it can lead to...

2. 3rd gear crunching on entry - Syncro sleeves being murdered leading to...

3. 3rd gear pops out when you accelerate, it' buggered gearbox rebuild time

Good luck
