Would it be wrong to...

would it be wrong to buy this:

1999 Alfa Romeo 145 on eBay, also, Alfa Romeo, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 20-Jan-08 22:45:57 GMT)

And swap the interior, foglights and bumpers with my car?? then sell it on again?

Could get me a few improvements on the cheap that way?

Paul.

I read that and thought it sounded a little suspicious.

I'm also "watching" it with interest.....poor bloke will no doubt be thinking to himself, "good, loads of watchers, will fetch a good price!"

As if..............

Not really that strange -Just the same way as cars are sold on Autotrader, just a way of reaching a wider audience. There are still lots of people out there that are aware of ebay (tv ads, word of mouth) but have still not yet tried it.

I would go for it - You are not breaking the car just swapping the good bits, why not?

It sounds strange to me - just about everyone can access the Internet. Libraries....Cafes, etc etc.

I do too if the truth be known.

I'd have to get rid of the wheels though...

Yeah but some choose not to - My dad for instance can access the internet at home, rarely does though. Asks me to source stuff for him!

You could do mate, but please 'Swap' parts over, don't break it, it looks way too decent to simply rip parts out and off of.

I do like it though.

I quite like it as it is TBH, apart from the green calipers. If it didn't sound dodgy and I had the money I would be tempted..

The advert say the seller doesn't have internet access, not that he does but choses not to use it.

Alright then - I could name at least 10 people in my local area who have probably never even acessed the internet, they are probably blissfully unaware that they could pop into the library and use it!

No need, I'm really not that interested.........

Face/Bothered? This guy know where to access the net, seeing as his mate is selling it for him!

And now back on track......

Re: Would it be wrong to...

I was only really trying to point out the fact that this forum is very quick to jump on adverts and claim them to be dodgy without anyone actually checking the position out.

What I actually said was,

"I read that and thought it sounded a little suspicious."

Which it does, to me.

I didn't say dont buy/bid on it.

Re: Would it be wrong to...

Doesn't look dodgy to me, if it was then why wouldn't the person advertising it just pretend to be the owner? It would be easier than making an elaborate excuse about his mate not having internet access.

I think we are too quick to jump on Alfa's for sale on eBay, but I can't judge as there are 2 GTV V6's I like for sale at the moment, 1 on ebay and the other on autotrader, both of which I have rendered too dodgy to bother with.

So there we have it,

I didn't say "dodgy", if you read back and you may wish to ask Paul R why he has his doubts too.

This is a Form, is it not and this being the case, that is my view. You have yours and I respect that, whether or not if differs to mine is imaterial.

If you want to buy a car from Ebay, nobody is going to stop you; personaly I wouldn't buy before seeing and driving. It is probably a nice car, but by the by, it doesn't sound 100% to me (NOTE - to "me") from the point of view of "selling on behalf of".

My opinion only.
