147 1.9 Jtd 8 Valve Cambelt

Good evening all,

I've been reading all the posts regarding the cambelt failure with the JTD 16v ENGINE, which is failing due to the waterpump seizing, has anyone had any problems with th 8V JTD ENGINE? The thing is I had my cambelt and tensioner done at 50000 miles in October 2006, and after reading all these stories, I am worried if my waterpump also fails and strips the cambelt - has anyone with the 1.9 JTD 8 Valve engine ever had this happen to them. The water pump was checked when the cambelt was replaced and the dealers said it was all fine. Please help, this is driving me crazy!!

I believe the 8V water pump is driven by the auxilary belt.
Anyone confirm this?
