Re: car in for cambelt change

Cam timing variator and waterpump, as if they fail after the cambelt has been done it will need to be done again. They require removal of the belts to change.

Re: car in for cambelt change

HI tom.

Just got my car back from a 72k service mines a 1800 ts don`t know if anything changes on the 2000 ts.

Which was Timing belt (kit bought from alfa), oil filter( alfa part)
Spark plugs(these are platinum last 60k) air filter, auxilary belt(alfa)
water pump (bought from alfa these are a weak point).
don`t forget gaskets for when the tops comes off.

The bits for my car was £260 for belt kit, oil filter, water pump, aux belt I also bought the variator but mine was done at 65k my mileage is 68500 so i didn`t change it but there genuine alfa bits.

Altogether it was roughly £520 all in but this was a local garage the mechanic is ex alfa, vag and they fully checked the car over not just a engine service

I don`t know where you live but I`m in rotherham and the garage is called brookland motor company, dalton, rotherham
definately recommend even thought the owner is a close friend.
