Cam belt close call.

Just like to say firstly thanks to Sparkoniocv for the expert help with changing my cam belt, I would have struggled alone but with his help we completed it in 3 1/2 hours. Anyway the reason for this post is to share my close call with you. Check out the link for a pic of my cambelt....

If that doesn't encourage the doubters to take a look, I don't know what will.

Well done on saving a small fortune!

Re: Cam belt close call.

A couple of years ago I changed the belt on my daughter's Panda at the specified time, as I was removing the old belt it snapped in my hands! Panda is non interference anyway but I've bought all the tools to do my GTV, I've done that once. Also will be doing daughter's
'new' 147 as although the cam-belt kit was done shortly before we bought it, the variator sometimes clatters on start up.

Re: Cam belt close call.

Sorry cant really say the car had been standing for two years due to the previous owner running out of fuel and the car didn't run right after that. I guess the seven missing teeth was due to the belt sitting in one position for so long. The good news is the one MAF sensor MOT and Cam belt kit later she's back to life and runs like a dream.
