remap/chip advice needed

I have a 3.2 GTV Phase 3.

I have had the engine rebuilt with somespecific mods to aid breathing: Exhaust decats, gasflowing, porting, valve seat angle change from 45 degrees to 30 degrees, free flowing 2 box quad pipe exhuast system and inlet cams cut to GTA2 spec with exhaust cams similar to 2.5 V6 inlet cams as far as lift and duration is concearned.

I have now heard that remapping or fotting a Dastec Unichip Q4 is not advised as the ecu calculates fueling and timing from the lambda sensors despite what an add on system tells it, and will revert to calculated values if for example the plug in module asks it to fuel more than stock or advance/retard timing more than stock preset limits.

I would like to know if this is true? Who else has had a Unichip fitted? What were the results? Which other car shares the GTV ecu?

Ian, why not phone Dawie de Villiers? He should be able to answer you. HennieV also has a 3.2, albeit a 3.2 turbo.
