Engine Heat

Hi ive only had my Alfa (147) for a couple of weeks now but have noticed that the engine stays hot a good 1-2 hours after switching off the engine, this is even on short journeys. I was wondering if this is normal for an alfa or might there be something wrong. Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: Engine Heat

My twin spark usually retains alot of heat for a good while after running it. It's not something that's worried me. Just keep an eye on your temp gauge in traffic. Other than that, I can't really offer any techie advice sorry!

Re: Engine Heat

Put your mind at rest

I've had my 147 2.0 TS for just over a year, and I can confirm that its ability to retain heat is somewhat akin to a storage radiator!

Bit of a [email protected] when it comes to checking the oil level cos it takes so long after a run before you can dip it without getting 2nd degree burns

Re: Engine Heat

Cars with cast iron blocks do retain a lot of heat. Mine stays hot for ages as well.
