Glow plug error. What shall i check next?

ok, so ive had a lot of trouble trying to find out why my GT JTD keeps throwing up a glow plug error message.

I replaced my 18month old NGK glow plugs for a set of Bosch items last week. Checked the glow plug fuse and was ok.

Still got the error message. I checked the resistance using a multi-meter of all plugs and they came out fine. I also wired them up (out of the engine) to a live and earth, and the tips lit up very quickly.

Next i checked the voltage at the wiring of each plug. These showed a minimal 0.46v.

I also checked the voltage at the glowplug relay. Showed 12v going into it, but then only 0.46v coming out of the plug tips (G1, G2, G3, G4). So I assumed my relay was at fault.

New glow plug relay ordered and fitted this evening - still getting a glow plug error!!! Its driving me mad.

What should i check next that i havent already done so?

How is the duration of the glow plug operation controlled? If not by the relay then this may be an area to look at. Alternatively damage to the loom?

I have the glow plug error message and I have changed the plugs. Still get the message so have ordered a relay. Can anyone advise me where the relay is located - assume engine fuse box - but cannot see relays here which match the relay I have orders. Baffled!

The better option for you is to get checked your problem from professional auto mechanic.
