What the difference in the Diesel engines

There are 3 10 2.4JTD Engines.

one gives out 136 BHP, one 140 and another 150.

Is there a phsyical difference in these?

Also how do i find out which one i have. When i do the car insurance online and type my reg in it state 2.4JTD(150) which i guess means 150 BHP.

The Handbook state 140 and just spoke to nige at angel tuning and he just told me it 136 as it has a Silver Engine cover.

Any idea's? Car was registered Aug 2000 (X Reg)

PS a picture of my Enging can be seen here:

Re: What the difference in the Diesel engines

The 136 and 140 version are the same, ie I have the 140 version but it actually makes 136bhp on the rolling road.

The 150bhp version is in the facelift version and has a different turbo and traction control etc.

The 150bhp version or 20v version have better for tuning than the versions we have because of the larger turbo as standard.

Yep, its definitely a 136er.. Those insurance people only know of the 150bhp model for some reason. On my numberplate, it comes up with 2.4 JTD Veloce (150) as well.

Re: What the difference in the Diesel engines

Yes.

So far Ive had a 136 156 JTD SW, a 156 saloon 140 bhp JTD, a 156 20v JTD and now a 2nd 159 20v JTDm. All of the 156's were remapped and flew. The later 20v in the 156 was a beastie

Darrude, are you getting a remap, or remap + CDA?

Re: What the difference in the Diesel engines

Have you declared it on your insurance, has it made much difference to your quote (if yes?)?

The 140bhp engine is Euro 3 compliant, the 136 ain't! Cleaner engine, less road tax. Allegedly!!!

£90 for 6 months is what I pay and according to the slam panel code check mine is 140bhp version.

Does that sound right?

Re: What the difference in the Diesel engines

hello
i had remap my old 166 136hp and the result was fantastic with manual six Gbox you will drive a new car (183 hp in my case) with a Kn filter.
Now i have a new 166 20V and i do the same, the result is also great but now i have the automatic GBox.

In my opinion the change is more radical in the 136hp (10v), but fantastic in both cars.
