Officially the v6 is still 72k, though failures have been knwon. I had mine done at 48k and would advise you to, better be safe than sorry!

Re: GTA Cam Belt

Its also adviseable to do the water pump at the same time. And ge the metal impellored one from the 3.0GTV as its a far better option

Re: GTA Cam Belt

I just got mine done at 4yrs 36kish. I think 5 years is pushing it a bit for any belt, and for peace of mind I wanted it out of the way. I didn't get the pump done but did ask them to check it. All in with a service and brake pads all round it was £870.

Re: GTA Cam Belt

Yeah don't worry. The V6 is pretty robust.

I would change at 3/4 years or 50-60K.

The Twin Spark engines are the notorious ones for the fault. Not the V6 therefore don't be too worried

Cambelt
Tensioner
Idler pullies (x2)
Water pump - metal impellor.

Re: GTA Cam Belt

Does anyone know if the GT 3.2 uses metal impellor or a plastic one in the water pump?
