Engine Mount Loose and vibrating

I have an Alfa 2.0ltr T Spark GTV 1997 which needs a new engine mount,

its the one at the front top near the belts. It looks as though its round, about 4 inches round and 5 inches high (approx)

Does anybody know if any special tools are needed to remove and replace?

Is it a job that can be done in a weekend or can anybody direct me to a thread where this is explained.

Will I have to take the road wheel off?

Also how many miles before these ususally need replacing?

Since I have had this car I have done 10,000 miles and have not had the mounts replaced

Re: Engine Mount Loose and vibrating

It's pretty straightforward.

Stick a jack under the engine.. lift the jack until it supports the weight of the engine (don't over-lift the engine, or you'll shag the sump) and then remove the old mount.. fit the new one, using the jack to make any fine adjustments. If you get it right the new mount should exactly line up with the bolt holes on chassis and engine.

Dunno how long they last on the GTV but it sounds rare that they fail.. Should do 100k at least, I'd have throught.
