Re: Engine warning light

Sorry Punkd cant help my Phase 1 doesnt have an engine light, someone else may be along later who can help. On my Fiat it means siomething aint right and go to a dealer before you knacker the catalist, so be careful. Is yours under warranty?

Re: Engine warning light

Mines been on and off (phase II) and its a simple common problem usually: Sensors.

1st question is does the car have flat spots in revs (around 2-3rpm) and if so its most likely your MAF (you can clean it using the forum's guide or splash out on a new one)

if its not that the 2nd option is that its a lamda sensor in the exhaust. Both are easy to replace and its not to freak over.

My light is currently on again, after a few on/offs - so dont worry. Yet do get it seen to, I'd suggest getting a computer stuck on it.

Re: Engine warning light

Hey buddy,

i have had my engine light come on but since have had it fixed. Here is what i have learnt.

Firstly the engine light will come on as soon as a sensor detects a problem. If the engine light stays on for more than 4 engine cycles (turning on driving turning off normally say after a few days) then the problem is not intermittent. My light would go out after a few days then come on say 2 weeks later.

You will need a diagnostic system to hook the computer up to which will tell you what is making the engine light come on. Mine turned out to be a loose wire from a coil pack. The dealer rewired it and i haven't had the problem again (been 6 months now) and free of charge!

No you say you actually feel a difference in the cars driving? I noticed no such difference so by the sounds of it you could have a lambda -not sure on spelling- or MAF problem.

Best thing to do is get it diagnosed via the computer and go from there.

Good luck and let us know what it is

Cheers Josh
