what sorta price am i looking at to replace this?

also, when changing the cambelt is there anything else to check whilst doing it?

i heard the water pumps are a bit 'iffy' and need looking at...

Had mine done today, at the same time as a full service; so I can give you a direct quote:

Parts: £174.61
Timing Belt @26.75
Balance Shaft Belt @ 66.66
Pulley @ 53.67
Pulley @ 27.53

approx 3 hours labour @ £180

Which would make it £354.61.

So your price sounds about right.

as you say, serious consider the water pump while you are in there, depending on mileage the variator as well

would certainly be doing the water pump and variator at that mileage but the trade price for the two would be about another £100 plus maybe an hours time....
