I've noticed over the last 4 weeks that my engine temp idles around 90 c is this normal (before it used to be around 85).

If it drops like that you need a new thermostat!

It should sit at 90degC while on the move too.

Re: Engine Idle Temp

mine sits between 70 and 90. 90 when sat in traffic. 70 when rocketing down open road.
i recon the thermostat is stuck open, but SGT say its normal operation to say betweeen 70-90 and said they checked it too and its fine?
i will have to take their word for it.

The thermostat shouldn't start to open until 81degC and be fully open at 85degC.
If you have an engine temperature below that then your thermostat has stuck open.

You need a new thermostat.
