Rocker cover CF1

My rocker cover has a busted "ear"... the bottom right (looking at it) corner screw hole has fatigued (I guess it's "under tension" when you tighten the bolt up over the flexible rubber gasket...) or it could have been dropped on that corner in the past.. anyway, it has a crack.

I have plastered it in gasket sealant .. at least until I fire the beast up post-head rebuild (water pump collapsed) but if it leaks terminally and if I can't find a replacement rocker:

Can the alloy be welded/brazed?

Would the rocker cover of the CF2 be a straight fit? It'd be temporary while I find an alloy rocker cover.. so no worries about fitting a plastic cover etc. Just want a rocker cover that covers..

Aye.. thanks Eaurouge... but aren't you in the jungle somewhere - Suriname isn't it?

My beast fired up without making too many horrible noises (exhaust blowing and the idle is all over the place.. ) so I'm optimisitic it'll work okay. There's no leak from my "repair" yet.. but once it's up and running that might change, so I will still need a rocker cover.
