Engine lifting eyes

Hi have any of you v6 people got a set of the lifting eyes that are bolted to the block, came to support mine today and there are no lifting eyes just the bolts.
I think I took them off a few years ago for access when messing with the manifold and steering and must have left them off.
I need to support the block to remove the subframe to refit the sump on my 164.
I have moved a few times since I bought the car years back and can't find them anywhere.
Please pm me or leave a post if you can help.
Sure somebody must have some on an old engine somewhere. I can return them if required.
Thank you.

I don't wish to sound arsey in asking this, but what are you on about? Lifting eyes?

It would be nice if they did have them though! - I just wrap a couple of big ropes round the engine.

Or do you mean the 3 studs in the side of the block?

Hi Chris missed your post my 164 did have lifting eyes bolted where you say but I removed them some years back and cant find them.
The problem is I need to support the block to refit the sump. due to the subframe surrounding the whole engine not the half frame like the GTV 147/156 it stops me supporting the block and leaving enough room to replace the sump. The mounts sit on the sub frame not hung from the inner rails.
I could probably manage it if it used a gasket rather than sealant as i could wiggle the sump over the oil pump drive body and the strainer then pass the gasket between as well but the sealant is the issue due to space hence I cant use a rope or belt. I know its driving me nuts.
Just forked out for a support beam too.
It was also sugessted that I use the manifolds but the heads are off as they have been overhauled and I need the space to refit the oil cooler pipes and the power steering pipes which bare where the alternator is on the 156/147 and you know how little space there is down the back with the heads and manifolds in place.

Yeah, that seems to be very similar to the 166. I'm still at a loss as to what you mean by the lifting eyes. I'm interested as if there is an OE bolt on lifting point it could save me endless grief faffing about with ropes when I next have to pull an engine out!

I wouldn't use the exhaust manifolds anyway, as I'd have thought you would probably bend them.

I'll admit, I have no idea what a 164 looks like from underneath but can you not wrap a rope around the crankshaft pulley to support the engine whilst you refit the sump?

No I can't find any reference yo them either. They were there.
Can't find the ones I had either so may resort to Chris155's method Would be so much easier/safer as I need to lie under it.

I would have liked to get the subframe down to repaint it too but that may have to wait .
