1.9JTD 8V Cambelt, are special tools required?

Quick question
Do I need any special tools for a cambelt change on a 1.9JTD 8valve, ie. cam locking tool.

I'm half way thought putting a new radiator and thermostat in the car today and thought I might as well go the whole hog and change all the belts, idlers/tensioner and water pump as I have them all here in my 'preventative maintenance kit'

The belt looks to have timing marks on it, anybody know if I will need a cam lock or if I can time it from any marks on the relevant pulleys ?

Thanks in advance
Craig

There are special tools available, a plate that holds the crank and a pin for the cam so it is advisable to use them but if you are just doing the belt then it is possible to use the marks.
The dowel on the crank should be at 6 o clock and then the mark on the cam pulley should line up with a rib on the back plate at about 1 o clock
On the 8 valve engine you will need to remove the cam pulley to get the water pump out.

Cheers, il pull the covers off later and have a look. I've reassembled the radiator, cooling system going to run a flush through it tomorrow to clean out the block and heater core before refilling with new coolant.

Changing the radiator was a reasonably big job, glad the weather held.
