The GT V6 engine, what's it like?

Hi everybody, as thread title suggests what is this V6 like? I'm looking at a couple of 2005 GT's.

Should I stump up extra for low milage? Anything I should look out for on the history?

One of them is due a cambelt and the dealer has said he will get it done, not sure how I can trust that the work has been done!

Oh and are all V6 engines 'busso's' named after their creator?

it's the 156 and 147 GTA engine. Mapping is a bt different, and the exhaust will be specific for the GT but no reason you can't get the same performance as a GTA

Yes I did post on the thread, I was under the impression you were after a quick sale? What's the reason for selling?

The GT V6 is a terrific engine.

I wouldn't worry as much about mileage as I would about how it has been looked after.

A neglected low miler is likely to be more hassle than a well maintained higher mileage one for example.

They are generally very reliable, but headgasket failure isn't unheard of. They tend to run perfectly well even with a failed headgasket, so it isn't always easy to spot.
