jtd 150 hp 08 wont rev

Lost power on my lovely gt blackline ten days ago.seemef to be fine the next day but gradually got worse.
My local man found an air flow metre fault so it was replaced.
But it wont rev at all.
Apparently the cat is blocked.Anyone come across this problem.?

Cat or DPF? ( not sure if your model has one fitted), normally involves a good high speed run, you can get additives for the fuel which help.

Thanks. It doesn't have a dpf so maybe a simple removal might give me more mpg and a little more ooompf. The greens won't love me but!!!!

If you do short journeys any diesel will benefit from a good run. Hold a lower gear at 3000 revs for a few miles with the engine under load, that should get rid of any build up. Then again it could be the EGR that's causing the problem. Can you feel the turbo spool up and does the engine rev OK? A lack of boost could be caused by split tubes to the boost solenoid / turbo. Are you sure the turbo hoses are OK, if one is split you may be able to hear a whistling sound as the air escapes.
