fiat stilo rattle at 3000 revs

confused:hi i have a fiat stilo 1.2 16v twin camed made by alfa and it has a horrible rattle at 3000 revs and goes when it gets over 3000 revs any suggestion on what it is

No, you have a Fiat Stilo with a Fiat 1.2 engine in it.

There might be some common Fiat/Lancia/Alfa badging on casings but that's a Fiat lump which appeared in other Fiat group cars like the Punto and the Ypsilon.

It would be worth finding out when the oil was last changed, they are robust engines if serviced correctly but prone to hydraulic tappet issues on the 16 valve engines if they've been neglected. Stilo 1.2 s were all 16 valve and if I remember/recall correctly those tappets were 'self adjusting'. Anyway, start with when it was last serviced and go from there.
