156 GTA and 166 V6 intake runner diameter

Just wanted to check if the ID for the 156 GTA and 166 V6 intake runners are the same size?

Thanks.

Yes, 45mm IIRC. Along with the 3.0 and 3.2 GTV/Spider and the 164 24V Cloverleaf (but not the Super).

Don't know about the 2.5 V6 166.

Thanks, I was told that there's one V6 Alfa with larger ID intake runners, but he couldn't recall which one.

Might want to do a project with it, if possible.

All 2.5’s are smaller.
There are rumor’s that the 164 QV used larger runners but it is a rumor and that is all.
The largest production runners were used on the 3.0 and 3.2.

It is definitely not a rumour. The 164QV 24V engine runners are the same as all the later model 3.0 and 3.2 but this only applies to the QV.

Same size on the Lancia Kappa 3.0.

I see. Got it,
So nothing bigger than the current 3.2 runners then.

There goes another replacement displacement project.

I swapped for qv runners on my 164 super and the difference was visible as well as the performance increase being noticeable.

Thanks.
Int D = 43.25mm @ the head inlet
Ext D = 45.25mm @ the head inlet
The bend reduces to 44mm x 45mm Ext D on a 2006 3.2 GT if this is any help.
