Warning lights after battery change

Hello everyone,
I have just changed my battery on my Alfa 156 jtd 2.4 and I have a spare black wire which doesn't seem to go anywhere and my abs and handbrake warning lights are on.

Does any one know what has caused this?

I wish it was as simply as that. I have reconnected the black wire and the warning lights are still there.
