159 no power at low revs!

Hi everyone.
Getting frustrated now! Had my 159 2.4 jtdm DPF removed, the EGR disabled and had remap! Goes like stink when I have 2000 revs on the counter but extremely difficult to rev low down! Quite dangerous really when trying to pull out of junctions! Lots of white smoke from the exhaust and I mean lots! Love the car but wondering if its best to cut losses and get rid! Thought the EGR and DPF were causing my problems eg lack of power etc and before remap had it into local garage three times where they did 'forced regen and cleaned the EGR! Ran well for about three months after each garage visit but back to square one now! I would really appreciate any advice from out there!

Thanks
Brian

Hi, are you sure the egr has really been disabled.? Its not unheard of for a cheaper egr dpf delete and remap not to of actually switched the egr off.

The fault does sound like a sticking egr valve, an easy way to check would be to fit a blanking plate, only a few quid on ebay. It your power comes back then you need to go back to whoever did the remap.

What colour is the smoke from the exhaust.?

Sounds like EGR stuck open.

EGR might be disabled in ECU software.

But also EGR might be mechanicaly stuck at opened position.
There are alot of threads how to remove/check/clean EGR valve, so try that.

If the Remap delete was done right they should have checked the EGR was working correctly .

Thanks chaps
Am taking EGR off tomorrow. If its choked up or stuck open then if I have to remove it every few months then I can live with that!
