loss of power and jerky at low revs in my 1.6 ts

Hi all

Recently I've been noticing that at low revs i.e 1500rpm, the car is very jerky and lacking power during acceleration until something seems to kick in around 3500rpm and then car acts normal again. problem seems to be quite temperamental as sometime its fine, but otherwise its doing this.

Any ideas on what might be causing the problem???

The Mass Airflow Meter is on the right hand side of the engine in the bit of pipe between the airbox and the throttle body.Unplug it and see if that helps. You might loose idle,I didn't for some reason.Hopefully it's that..

Leave it unplugged and take it for a drive. If it's revving freely that's your culprit. They don't last forever a new one is a little over a hundred bucks. Most people loose tickover with it unplugged,I didn't and drove it around for a few weeks without it.Won't do any harm either way.

Unfortunately, thats only made the problem worse.....a warning came up on the screen saying monitor failure or something similar, it started to rev freely when it was cold, but once it heated up, much jerkier and even less power than before
