blown up twink, what will fit?

While tootling through Northwich the other day I spotted a Panda car driven by a teenage police lady emerging from behind a van, through a red light, with her little blue lights on.

I am now satisfied that the ABS is working properly, unfortunately my engine isn't; it now sounds as if Snow White's friends are digging for precious metals and puffing out fluffy clouds of white smoke.

I think that my size 12 feet may have covered all three pedals in a moment of panic! Note to self, modify pedals.

Since the car is an N plate 2.0 twink 916 Spider economics are a factor, what engines will fit as a straight replacement and is there anybody local to Northwich, CW8, who could do the swap at reasonable cost, whether or not they supply the replacement lump?

If not is there a specialist Alfa breaker who would give me a reasonable sum for the otherwise together and well maintained vehicle, I would rather save the car but I may have to replace it ?

The problem of supply, she is solved by Autolusso but I still need a garage to do the swap please.

If it had a tspark in it then the easiest option is to replace it with another 2.0 twin spark. Lesser capacities will affect its resale value and any other engine will require substantial wiring changes.

Where abouts in Cheshire are you?

Thanks both.

I love Alfas, after thirty miles it settled down again and I look forward to stripping it and identifying the fault because my CF1 2.0 has arrived from Autolusso with new variator water pump, belts etc. and is going in as soon as I have the 406 coupe in shape.

I live in Northwich, but I'm in Bristol at the moment for a few days, I come down regularly.
