Hi, a strange request but I am after info on the head fitted to my car.
The car was purchased cheap for a charity run to Milan details are at Roland Castagner is fundraising for Centrepoint
The car is a 1997 spider 2.0 ltr Twin Spark.
Also from what I have found on the web it is a phase one, and the engine management system is a Bosh Motronic M2.10.4. (confirmed with fiatecuscan)
I have a problem with the Cam position sensor causing lack of acceleration and a fault code p0008. I have the new part ready to fit but now wondering on the origin of the head ! and hence weather the exhaust pulley is correct.
I am unaware what to look for in casting numbers or where, but a very noticeable difference was no drilling in the head for a temperature sensor. This should of been to the right of the thermostat housing. Instead a " T " had been put in the thermostat to rad pipe !
I have corrected this by drilling and tapping a spare thermostat housing to enable the temp of the head to be read rather than the rad, this was easy as a unused blanked location is available on the bottom of the housing.
So any ideas on the heads origin or how to check ? or part number to look for on the exhaust cam ?
