variator advice on TS spider
I have bought a 2001 twin spark spider that has had a cam belt failure and consequently the last owner had to pay over £1600 to have the head and cam belt rebuilt.
That was about five months ago and now the engine is making a loud noise like a diesel type noise while the engine is running that if you rev it up goes away.
It sounds like either a noisy tappet or perhaps the Variator as the Variator according to the invoice for work carried out does not seem to have been replaced.
Whilst being repaired all the valves , guides and followers were replaced as were head bolts and the head machined and pressure tested .
Having come across variator noise on start up only before is it possible for on to rattle all the time?
If not the variator what else could it be ? The engine other that that is sweet when revved and does not overheat and does not missfire or overheat.
