Thumbs Up Do 156 2.4 injectors require recoding when replaced?

Hello everyone, can anyone tell me if it it is necessary to recode replacement injectors when fitting to a 2001 156 2.4 10 valve? About to undertake copper washer seal replacement so I would appreciate previous experiences.

Thanks very much

From reading other threads on this subject,it appears that if you mark the injectors on removal and refit them back in the same order, you would not have to re- code them again.

Good luck with removing them - sometimes you can end up with a stubborn injector I believe and this can test your patience

Good luck

Thanks for the post, and the wishes of luck. Aware of the issues with removal, oh well. Only problem is two have already been replaced, by a main stealer, so one would assume they were recoded. Or am I making an ass out of u and me....! Never assume, always check, check, check!

Does anyone know if recoding can only be done on Alfa examiner? Or will a snap on diagnostic be able to perform the same task?

Thanks

FiatEcuscan will let you recode injectors. Its certainly an option I can see when I plug in though Ive not done it. I'm not sure if the earlier 10V engines use coded injectors like the later mjets.

Well chaps, copper seals replaced, and no difficulty removing three original injectors, which were all...filthy!! Mr muscled and carb cleaner till holes visible in injector tip. Now, just need to solve cam sensor issue... Then Angel remap! Remap should optimise injectors, but other posts lead me to believe any injector replacement should be accompanied by recoding, otherwise will only run at basic factory setting. Along the same lines as balancing the carbs on non-ecu engines, if anyone remembers those...! Thanks for the fiatecuscan tip.

Cheerio
