CF1 rocker cover on CF2 Engine

Hi Guys

Just procrastinating at work and was wondering whether a aluminium rocker cover from a CF1 twinspark engine would fit on a CF2. Thinking red top look with red stipled paint.....yum.

Many thanks in advance

Sam

I've seen a 156 TS before with CF1 rocker cover fitted, so it must be possible..

What about a cf3 one? I've got a spare cf3 one if you want details off it.

Early 1.6TS 156 had the alloy cam cover.

Certainly not all the 1.6 CF2 156s as I've got one here for breaking with a plastic cover (Its on an X-reg, last of the CF2) Maybe just the first ones, 1997 built?

By the way did they release the 1.6 here in the UK from the first day the 156 was launched, or did it come along later?

It was just the very early ones (very few if any in the UK).
I can't remember 100% but I don't think we had the 1.6TS until later, by which time they would have changed to plastic.

Hi guys thanks for the responses.

I've attached a picture of the one i saw on ebay, which i assumed came of a CF1 twinspark engine. It's listed for a twinspark GTV 1998-2004?

Was thinking of painting the cam banks in the red stipled paint, with alfa romeo in white.....going for a old twin cam look.

If its come from a GTV its come from a 1996 - 1998 CF1 model. The CF2 (1998 - 2000) used a plastic cover, the same plastic cover that the CF3 used (2001 - 2003).

Garage
Seen plenty of mods on the 155 forum the other way. Small faf with the breather at the back due to how it comes from the car but that is it. Plug and play
