jtd engine efficiency

do the cats cause the engine to come up to temp quicker thus naking it more economical sooner?
iv been looking into removing my cats to gain more horses but i need my engine to come up to temp as soon as it possibly can as i dont live very far from work so want my engine to become economical as soon as possible.

cheers kris

Removing the cat will make the exhaust free flowing and will have a slight improvement on performance.

This part I know what I'm wondering will it cause the engine to take longer to get upto temp?

I would take a guess at yes, takes longer to warm up. Is it measurable?.
I have mostly short journeys also and some times I'm half way there before reaching
Mid point on gauge , egr disable would also make longer to warm up and also front mount intercooler.
I have all these and most significant thing on how fast it warms up is type/speed of driving, if I go downhill coasting 30mph takes a long while to warm up, if I go other direction I soon hve uphill section and into 50mph roads and car warms up very quickly as on boost from getgo.
