What size bolts for V6 cam covers

Hi,
I just took a bolt into a specialist screws shop, they reckon it's M7 x 40mm which they only do in black. A quick look on line and I can only get M6 or M8 in A2 stainless steel. Anyone know of anywhere I can pick some up. Was £1.08 for 1 black bolt and I need 18. Not spending £20 on bolts!

Cheers
al

You can order the original ones from AR..

M7 is a weird size though, it seems. I'm sure they coulda made them M6...

I have just ordered 5 from dealer. You are correct with size and yes they are difficult to obtain. I had mine delivered within 3 days from Mangoletsis. 80p each I think

I sprayed the heads of my new ones with shiny metal paint before I fitted them. It keeps them looking less shonky for longer...

I'm new to the forum but being around the car scene for as long as I can remember supplying this sort of thing!!

You are right m7 is avery rare thread, but one that car manufacturers line to use I odd places on a car

For example peugeot use them to hold the clutch in place on the 106!!!

Next time I am in my suppliers I will enquire about this size and what finishes they have,

Thought about these:
m7x40 chrome - CONCEPT-WHEELS
but as I didn't want to wait, I sprayed originals with VHT silver

Cheers Swampy, it'd be nice to know if they're available without having to pay a fortune. I just eneded up wire brushing mine and I barely notice them now. Barely ever look in the engine bay to be fair, but it's nice when i do.

Well the good news I can get them!!!

Bad news is due to the odd size they arnt cheap at around 50p each. Awaiting confirmation of what they would cost if I got them in bulk!!!

They would be stainless steel with a socket cap head on them!!!
