JTD 8V EGR blank

Hi all,
Can i put a solid type egr blank plate on my car, or will it cause a "fault" ?
Is the intake flap removable?, assuming its main reason for being there is to work with the egr?
Cheers,
John.

I blanked off the egr on my 2003 8v 156 with no problems and it ran much better.
I've read that you can remove the butterfly valve but on a standard engine I couldnt see the point, you would be better off removing the front pipe cat, I did this by buying a second hand cat and removing the middle, made a noticable improvement and well worth the £40 it cost
