oil breather catch tank 1.9 jtd

Hi all,
my recently purchased 147 jtd is dripping oil from the intercooler, i was at first worried about this but after some research it appears this is not considered a major problem ?.
I am thinking of fitting an oil catch tank on the rocker to intake pipe to hopefully stop the problem, has anyone done this on their car?
Cheers,
John

Is the oil dripping from the outside of the intercooler or from inside when the pipe is removed.?
If it id from inside then it depends on how much oil you have but if it is a fair bit then that would point to the turbo bearings/oil seal starting to fail, take off the intake pipe and check for excessive play in the compressor shaft.
If the oil is dripping from the outside of the pipe going to the intercooler like it was on my jtd then it will be a leak from either the oil feed pipe banjo bolt or the drain pipe gasket, I fitted 2 new copper washers and the oval drain gasket to mine to cure the leak which was causing the oil to get blown along the pipe. it was probably leaking from the drain pipe as the bolts were loose.
Parts were about 10 and easy enough to fit

Thanks for the reply,
there is oil inside the pipe and intercooler, and dripping from the outside of the intercooler. there is no noticeable smoke coming from the exhaust.
I cant see any leaks from the turbo oil connections.
I will take it all apart this weekend and have a good look,
Cheers,
John
